Regional Planner (Planner I or Planner II)

The Southeastern Connecticut Council of Governments seeks a highly motivated and creative Regional Planner to join its team of passionate and dedicated planning professionals. The candidate who fills this position will work in all facets of planning at both the local and regional level and will gain valuable experience working in a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Regional Planner participates in comprehensive planning activities and functions, assists with the administration of SCCOG’s transportation planning program, and provides assistance to member municipalities. May attend night meetings. SCCOG staff have the opportunity to gain experience in multiple subject areas including land use regulation, economic development, natural resource conservation, transportation, housing, human services, sustainability and resilience, and emergency management.
This is a full-time, 35 hour per week position. The position of Planner I requires a bachelor’s degree in planning or related field; Planner II requires a master’s degree in planning or related field plus 1 year experience, or bachelor’s and three years’ experience.
